The center represents an opportunity to learn about marine life, tools used in the construction of historical ships, types of traditional ships, how they were built, used, and their types, in addition to learning about the captains and sailors who lived during that era of history.
The center consists of five halls: a hall about the history of the Wilayat of Sur, which tells the history of archaeological sites, castles, forts, and traditional ships in the Wilayat, and a hall of maritime heritage, which displays the construction of traditional ships and models of traditional ships that the Wilayat of Sur is famous for, such as the Ghanjah, the Sanbuq, the Jalboot, and the Boom, as well as displaying some of the different tools used in the construction of traditional ships.
